Job description

SPIE Services Nigeria Limited is looking to strengthen its workforce in Nigeria by recruiting experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Supervisor to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review Construction Engineering documents issued by contractor and ensuring it is in line with detailed engineering drawing and project specification requirements
  • Review of CONTRACTOR project documents: Method statements, work procedure and any deliverables from CONTRACTOR as may be required.
  • Ensure the CONTRACTOR is working with the latest document revision through regular comparative checks with drawings used at SHIPYARD.
  • Daily surveillance of E&I activities being carried out at SHIPYARD by the CONTRACTOR ensuring conformity with project specifications and drawings.
  • Preparing and issuance of Daily progress report for all E&I activities on the vessel to the Head of construction.
  • Participate in daily site HSE meetings, toolbox talks, and Job hazard analysis carried out by the CONTRACTOR.
  • Participate in HSE walkthroughs, inspection audits and Hazard Identification campaigns on SHIPYARD.
  • Participate in technical reviews as requested by Management
    Participate in pre-commissioning activities- Witnessing testing and reviewing of pre-comm documentation.
  • Participate in joint walkthrough/ inspections during punch items close outs and ensure the applicable pre-Comm forms are signed off.
  • Participate in weekly progress meetings with contractor on SHIPYARD as requested by Head of Construction.
  • Progress monitoring- comparison between planned and achieved for reporting to Head of Construction.
  • Liaise with other disciplines at SHIPYARD to ensure potential clashes are identified in time and communicated to concerned disciplines of timely resolution.
  • Participate in the preparation and close out of SHIPYARD report for E&I
    To carry out any other assigned duties or task as assigned by Hierarchy

Profile

  • Advanced Diploma or Degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering.
  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry or ship building industry.
  • Ability to read and interpret E&I drawings is required.
  • Good Knowledge of applicable codes, standards and regulations for electrical and instrumentation works
  • Previous experience on E&I installation in an FSO, FPSO or large crude vessel carrier will be an added advantage
  • Good Knowledge and previous experience with TOTAL general specifications will be an added advantage.
  • Good use of computer based programs (Microsoft office- excel, Word, Power point e.t.c)
  • Fluent in English and ability to communicate at all levels at Shipyard
  • Good interpersonal, organizational, presentation and communication skills is required
