Job description

SPIE Services Nigeria Limited is currently looking for  a Senior Procurement Officer to join its work force in Lagos Nigeria.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Procurement Strategy & Planning:

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements in procurement processes.
  • Work closely with various departments to understand their requirements and ensure timely and cost-effective procurement.

Supplier Management:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating favorable terms and conditions.
  • Conduct supplier evaluations and performance reviews to ensure the quality and reliability of goods and services.
  • Resolve any disputes or issues with suppliers promptly and effectively.

Contract Management:

  • Prepare, review, and negotiate contracts with suppliers and service providers.
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions, including delivery schedules, quality standards, and payment terms.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records and documentation.

Compliance & Risk Management:

  • Ensure adherence to procurement policies, legal regulations, and best practices.
  • Identify and manage procurement-related risks and provide solutions to mitigate them.
  • Stay updated on relevant industry trends, market conditions, and regulations affecting procurement.

Team Leadership & Mentorship:

  • Lead and mentor junior procurement staff, providing guidance and training on procurement processes and best practices.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to build procurement knowledge across the organization.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of procurement team members.

Budget Management:

  • Work with finance and other departments to manage procurement budgets effectively.
  • Ensure that procurement activities are aligned with budget constraints and deliver cost-efficient results.

Reporting & Analysis:

  • Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, highlighting key metrics such as cost savings, supplier performance, and compliance.
  • Analyze procurement data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.

Profile

The Senior Procurement Officer will be responsible for managing and overseeing the procurement activities for the organization. This role involves sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, ensuring compliance with procurement policies, and ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of goods and services required by the organization. The Senior Procurement Officer will also play a key role in strategic sourcing and driving cost savings while maintaining high standards of quality.
