Job description

Thanks to its internationally recognized expertise in the field of oil and gas production unit operations, maintenance and also Renewable Energy market, SPIE Global Services Energy was selected to provide this activity on the Block 3, PALANCA in Angola.


In order to participate to our growth of Sub-Saharan Africa Business Unit, we are
looking for an Electrical Supervisor H/F .


This position is located OFFSHORE on PALANCA, Block 3 in ROTATIONAL MODE 4x4.

Role includes but is not limited to:

 

Operations

  • Organises on site the maintenance operations which are placed under his responsibility,
  • Assists the planning team by giving any technical support for the preparation of the jobs in his discipline.
  •  With his teams assists specialists working under Specific Maintenance contracts (SMC),
  • Manages interventions using the CMMS and checks intervention reports in the CMMS (including those concerning SMC) and writes the technical reports related to his field,
  • Ensures that the transfer of knowledge by mentoring occurs properly within his teams, and actively participates in this himself,
  • Maintains all HV/LV equipment, UPSs, protection relays, earthing, and lightning strike systems.
  •  Knowledge of Electrical controls and monitoring systems
  •  Provide support in repair, installation, and commissioning of generators, UPS systems, switchgear, heater bundles, boilers, thyristors.
  • Asset Care routine to ensure PM/CM close-out and Integrity of Asset maintained.
  • Troubleshooting and repairing malfunctioning electrical LV/HV equipment, (Generator/Electric motor) etc.
  • Reading and interpreting electrical and electronic circuit diagrams, and schematics.
  • Inspecting transformers, circuit breakers, and other electrical components.
  • Troubleshooting electrical issues using appropriate testing devices.
  • Organize for all maintenance activities (Repairing and replacing equipment, electrical wiring, and fixtures).
  • Daily parameter logging, and records.

 

Methods

  • Establishing all ELECTRICAL operations and maintenance procedures to be applied.
  • Analyses indicators provided by the CMMS, stock management and intervention reports with a view to improving maintenance in his area (HSE, availability, preservation of equipment, optimisation of costs),
  • Identifies recurrent corrective maintenance interventions, analyses them and suggests improvements,
  • Keeps a critical eye on current preventive maintenance programmes and, if need be, suggests improvements,
  • Warns support teams of any recurring problems related to the availability or quality of spare parts,
  • Suggests improvements and requests modifications.
  • Quality Assurance
  • In addition to audits and reviews as above mentioned he participates in periodic meetings with GMC and SMC to ensure proper surveillance.

Also, designs, follows-up and optimizes maintenance concepts in close cooperation with the GMCs and SMCs.

Profile

The holder of this position must have the following qualifications:

  • Higher National Diploma or Certificate (HND/HNC (A-levels + 3 years’ study) or BTS/DUT or equivalent,
  • Proven experience on HVAC equipment
  • +5 years’ experience minimum in the maintenance field on oil and gas production installations,
  • Good knowledge of electrical LV/HV equipment, Generator, Electric motor, breakers, switchgears UPS, protection relays, earthing, and lightning strike systems
  • SAP/R3 experience and know-how
  • Physical ability to work on offshore installations in the climatic conditions of the site,
  • Working language: English Bright 3.5 (or equivalent)
  • Fluent in English, knowledge of French & Portuguese language recommended
