We currently have an opportunity within SPIE Oil & Gas Services Middle East L.L.C for a Fire Brigade Team Leader

Job Purpose:
This is an opportunity for you to be responsible for providing technical, management advice and support on the Fire aspects and risks associated with the Company's assets, facilities, operations and activities in terms of Industry best practices and compliance with relevant applicable Country Regulatory and Company Regulations

Your main duties will be to:
Manage and administrate the company firefighting issues.
Develop, implement and review goals and objectives of fire brigade section.
Develop, implement, update, and evaluate firefighting system and procedures on regular bases (based on national and international standards).
Drive and implement projects related to firefighting systems and other fire prevention aspects.
Participate and attend communication and coordination meetings with internal and external agencies.
Review new/existing fire protection equipment or systems installed in the company.
Respond to all kinds of emergencies such as fire, toxic, gas leaks, rescue including High Angle & Confined Space and attend incidents.
Ensure that proper firefighting techniques are applied; implement immediate safety measures to protect employees and Siba property.
Ensure that technical specifications for firefighting equipment (fire trucks, foam/water carriers, emergency vehicles, rescue equipment, advance control vehicles, and portable equipment) are in place and up-to-date.
Review drawings of plant area layouts for new developments, fire prevention/protection issues including recommending best methods on fire protection systems.
Plan and conduct periodical technical professional training for Fire Brigade staff; such as breathing apparatus training, fire leadership, and fire prevention, method of instruction and investigation of fires.
Plan, implement and evaluate training for company's Emergency Response Team (ERT).
Plan and conduct annual fire extinguisher training (theoretical and practical) for SOGS Siba employees.
Initiate testing of fire and rescue equipment installed at Siba premises to ensure they are in sound working condition at all times, and properly maintained.
Follow up with new technology in fighting engineering and science.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the HSEF Superintendent.


Ideally, you should have Bachelor Degree in Science/Engineering or equivalent with additional professional qualifications in Fire & Loss Prevention
Ideally, you should have 12 or more years of experience in Fire Services in hydrocarbon processing plant, of which 6 years should be in a Fire Brigade Shift Leader capacity, 5 years in gas plant or refinery operations.
You should be familiar with Emergency Command Centre Facilities and Information Management and Pre-planning and Maintaining a State of Readiness or equivalent
Good working knowledge in Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems, Environmental Discharges, Incident Command System, Industrial Hygiene, and Gas Dispersion, Modeling, Explosion Indices and ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001
Good Physical Health
Previous experience in sour gas plant is an advantage
Capable of giving strong attention to details and problem-solving skills.
