We currently have an opportunity within SPIE Oil & Gas Services Saudi Arabia for a:


Job Purpose:

This is an opportunity for you to be responsible for conducting strategic, market, economic and technology analysis related to Client's refining and petrochemical businesses, with the objective of continually improving the Company's financial results.

Your main duties will be to:

Evaluate, report, and make recommendations related to both commercial and operational decisions concerning profitability, strategic direction, capital investments, and revenue growth /cost reduction opportunities - considering, both the Company's external and internal business environments, as well as leveraging available benchmark data.

Support the annual Business Planning and quarterly Corporate Performance reporting processes for informing and/or securing the approval of the Board of Directors.

Carry out ad-hoc research or identify the optimal risk mitigation strategy in response to unexpected market developments.

Business Planning and Corporate Performance. Drive the creation of the Company's 3-year Business Plan. Coordinate and consolidate the efforts of departments working on the various elements of the Business Plan (including Business Outlook, Pricing Assumptions and Marketing Plan, Production Plan, Profitability and Cash Flow projections, OPEX and CAPEX budgets, Corporate Social Responsibility Programs, Manpower, Enterprise Risks, Corporate KPIs).

Develop documents for the Board of Directors to secure Board approval for the 3-year Business Plan and to report out on Company Performance on a quarterly basis.

Industry and Competitor Analysis. Assess external (economic, technological, geopolitical, social) and internal (e.g. corporate policies, business processes, organizational structure) forces to determine the Company's competitive positioning. Analyze competitor/intelligence data and perform industry assessments to identify growth opportunities and impending threats. Business intelligence data and the physical/digital assets where this information is stored.

Support in New Projects/Business Development: Perform discounted cash flow evaluations that incorporate existing and potential revenues, capital requirements, operating and maintenance expenses, growth opportunities, operating synergies, supply and demand projections, risks, and other aspects related to new project development.

Develop, review, and maintain economic and financial models, including budgets and rate of returns, which provide detailed analysis/valuation of business development projects.

Prepare ad hoc analysis and materials in support of business development activities.

Business Support: Conduct ad hoc research to help comprehend impacts of unexpected market developments and gauge the financial impact of business decisions.


Ideally, you will have a Degree in chemical engineering or Chemistry with studies in Economy or Business development – like MBA or equivalent (with a specialization in Strategy Planning or Finance).

You will have 10 plus years of experience in strategy planning, business planning, financial analysis

(preferably with multinational companies) within the refining or petrochemical sector. Proven activities in financial modelling and analytical tools (IRR, break-even point, EVA, NPV)

You will preferably have previous work experience in GCC country. Experience working in Iraq is advantage.

You will have proven experience in Safety precautions and occupational hazards in the use of equipment; safe work methods and practices.

You will have a good level of computer literacy and be proficient in industry commissioning software and systems and advance skills in Microsoft Office. You will need excellent communication and presentation skills in English both written and verbal in English.
