Descrição da função

Operations:

  • Organises and performs on site the maintenance operations which are placed under his responsibility,
  • Ensures strict compliance with COMPANY HSE policies, including adherence to Permit to Work (PTW) procedures, isolation standards, and approved operating procedures.
  • Leads and coordinates field technicians during maintenance and troubleshooting activities, ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with industry best practices.
  • Enters intervention reports in the CMMS (including those concerning SMC) and writes the technical reports related to his field,
  • Prepares detailed technical reports, including failure analysis, root cause identification, and corrective/preventive recommendations.
  • Carries out, at the Supervisor request, any intervention within his field of competence.
  • Performs advanced fault diagnosis and takes in charge the systems under his responsibility in case of breakdown, ensuring timely restoration to normal operating conditions.

Perfil

Theoretical Knowledge

  • Basic understanding of oil & gas facilities and processes (well to export), including hydrocarbon risks (explosion, asphyxiation).
  • Proficient in basic computer use (Word, Excel, email, internet).
  • Solid foundation in electrical physics: resistance, inductance, AC/DC systems, voltage levels, frequency, active/reactive power.
  • Able to read and interpret electrical drawings (single-line diagrams, schematics), nameplates, and symbols.
  • Knowledge of cable sizing, voltage drop, and general electrical network philosophy (generation, emergency power, switchboards, UPS).
  • Understanding of load shedding/sharing, interlocking, and inter-tripping systems.
  • Basic knowledge of cathodic protection and PLC logic (AND/OR, timers, alarms, trips).
  • Familiar with electrical protection systems (short circuit, overload, earth fault, reverse power).
  • Understanding of earthing systems (IT, TT, TN).
  • Knowledge of main electrical equipment and maintenance principles: motors, transformers, alternators, UPS, batteries, switchboards, soft starters, and protection devices.
  • Awareness of condition-based maintenance (e.g., thermography).

Maintenance & Systems

  • Understanding of preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance concepts.
  • Basic CMMS knowledge: creating notifications, reading and completing work orders, identifying tools, spares, and procedures for maintenance tasks.

Practical Skills

  • Competent in the safe use of electrical hand tools (including insulated tools).
  • Familiar with cable installation practices: laying, glanding, termination, tagging, and routing (trenches, trays).
  • Proficient in using electrical test equipment: multimeters, clamp meters, insulation testers (megger), earth testers.

Maintenance Know-How

  • Able to troubleshoot and maintain small electrical systems (lighting, heat tracing).
  • Capable of cable identification, termination, and installation.
    Performs preventive maintenance on electrical equipment (motors, transformers, breakers, batteries, switchboards).
  • Able to test alarms, trips, interlocks, and perform insulation/continuity tests.
  • Capable of dismantling, repairing, reassembling, and testing LV electrical equipment.

  • Electrical diploma/degree;
  • 5–10 yrs O&G/industrial maintenance (offshore preferred);
  • LV/HV systems (motors, generators, transformers, switchboards, UPS);
  • Fault finding;
  • Read SLD/schematics;
  • CMMS (e.g. SAP PM);
  • PTW/LOTO;
  • Electrical testing (megger, multimeter);
  • Cable install/termination;
  • Maintenance execution;
  • Basic reporting in English.
