Job description

SPIE Services Nigeria Limited is currently looking for QA/QC Electrical / Instrumentation Material Inspector to join its work force in Port Harcourt yard Nigeria.


Key responsibilities shall include but not limited to the following:


Material Inspection:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of electrical & Instrumentation materials, equipment, and installations to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards.
  • Verify the accuracy of dimensions, ratings, and material certifications.
  • Perform visual inspections, dimensional tests, and functional tests.

Compliance and Documentation:

  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry codes, standards, and project specifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and findings.
  • Prepare and document non-conformances and recommend corrective actions.

Quality Control:

  • Monitor and control the quality of electrical & Instrumentation work throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Participate in quality control audits and inspections.
  • Liaise with construction, maintenance, training teams, subcontractors, and engineers to address quality issues.

Reporting:

  • Prepare and submit inspection reports, documenting findings, non-conformances, and corrective actions.
  • Communicate quality issues and recommendations to relevant stakeholders.

Other Duties:

  • May assist with the development and implementation of quality control procedures.
  • May be involved in the training of other staff on quality control procedures.

Profile

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree Electrical & Instrumentation skill.
  • 3+ years of experience in material quality control
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

Skills:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team.
  • Problem-solving skills with a customer-oriented approach.

Competencies:

  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical & instrumentation materials, equipment, and installation practices.
  • Inspection Skills: Ability to perform thorough inspections and identify defects or non-conformances.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Ability to accurately document findings and prepare clear and concise reports.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders, including construction teams, subcontractors, and engineers.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve quality issues.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards
  • Experience in QA/QC for electrical & instrumentation projects
