Job description

SPIE Global Services Energy is currently looking for a Gas Turbine Specialist Engineer to join its work force in Angola.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review the gas turbine maintenance strategy, annual plan, operating hour-based requirements, inspection forecasts, major maintenance windows, and long-lead intervention needs.
  • Prepare detailed work packs and readiness plans for gas turbine inspections, borescope inspections, hot section inspections, combustion inspections, package maintenance, component change-outs, and major maintenance events.
  • Define task sequence, hold points, critical path, manpower, duration, tools, lifting requirements, access needs, isolations, preservation, testing, start-up, performance checks, and recommissioning requirements.
  • Identify and validate OEM parts, exchange components, consumables, filters, seals, gaskets, lubricants, instrumentation items, special tools, test equipment, lifting accessories, and preservation materials.
  • Coordinate OEM/vendor technical clarifications, service bulletins, intervention procedures, field service requirements, mobilization documentation, offshore certifications, and execution prerequisites.
  • Follow up PRs, POs, long-lead parts, repair/exchange logistics, vendor mobilization readiness, shipment readiness, and interface constraints affecting gas turbine campaigns.
  • Support warehouse verification, preservation control, segregation, bagging, tagging, boxing, packing list preparation, and shipment readiness for gas turbine materials and special tools.
  • Interface with rotating equipment, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, operations, reliability, HSE, procurement, logistics, marine, OEMs, and offshore teams to integrate gas turbine scopes into FPSO execution plans.
  • Support offshore execution by monitoring progress, resolving technical issues, assessing deviations, reviewing vendor reports, tracking findings, and converting recommendations into actionable work orders or material requests.
  • Gas turbine maintenance preparation dossiers, OEM readiness trackers, major intervention work packs, special tool and spare parts matrices, long-lead procurement trackers, mobilization readiness checklists, execution support reports, vendor report follow-up registers, and post-intervention action trackers.

Profile

Engineering degree or equivalent senior technical qualification in mechanical, rotating equipment, turbomachinery, or related discipline, with demonstrable experience in gas turbine maintenance planning and major interventions in oil and gas, preferably FPSO or offshore environments. Experience with OEM-supported gas turbine maintenance, such as Solar or Baker Hughes/GE packages or equivalent, is strongly preferred.
