We currently have an opportunity within SPIE Oil & Gas Services Saudi Arabia for a:

Facilities Planning Leader

Job Purpose:

This is an opportunity for you to be responsible for and led multiple disciplined teams in large investment studies for refinery and petrochemical facilities.

Your main duties will be to:

Conduct conceptual studies on refinery and petrochemical facilities and develop long-term business strategies.

Interface with related stakeholders, Operations, Engineering, Production Planning (PPD), Process Engineering (PED), New Business Development, Engineering (PMD), Project Management (BOTB).

Perform process economic evaluations of existing and potential new refining and petrochemical facilities.

Direct the evaluations of major refining and petrochemical facilities.

Prepare and make presentations to Management on refining petrochemical investment opportunities.

Provide full-time consultation to Management and other organizations.

Mentor the training of future Facilities Planning Specialists.


Ideally, you will have a Bachelor's Degree in chemical engineering with a minimum of 20 + years' experience as Chemical Process Engineer & Department Manager.

You should have Master planning experience and Greenfield /brownfield configuration

You should have minimum 10 plus years' experience in the following refining technologies (as examples: Crude Distillation (CDU), Vacuum Distillation (VDU), C4 Alkylation, Catalytic Reforming, Aromatics (BZ/PX), C4/C5/C6 and Xylene Isomerization, Various Hydroprocessing (NHT/DHT/VGOHT/MHC), High olefin Fluid Catalytic Cracking, Steam Cracking (Ethane Cracking), Sulphur and Amine, Steam Reforming, Hydrogen manufacturing, Metathesis and Petrochemicals such as LLDPE, HDPE, PP, LDPE/EVA, EPR, TPO, MTBE, MEG, POX, Cumene and Phenol)

You will have Membership of a Professional Engineer Association is a plus

You will have experience in applying and analyzing process simulation and economics of refinery and petrochemical operations.

You will have experience in performing economic evaluations and feasibility studies and preparing requests for budgetary approvals and experience with professional consultant in planning and executing engineering studies.

You will preferably have previous work experience in GCC country.

You will have proven experience in Safety precautions and occupational hazards in the use of equipment; safe work methods and practices.

You will have a good level of computer literacy and be proficient in industry commissioning software and systems and advance skills in Microsoft Office. You will need excellent communication and presentation skills in English both written and verbal in English.
