Job description

·      Receive daily work orders from Supervisor.

·      Test and check all fixed and portable fire, safety, spill response and rescue equipment on complex and remote platforms. Also request maintenance in case the equipment is not in good operation condition or nearly reaches expiry date.

·      Monitor the equipment tests and checks, and report deficiencies to Supervisor, SSHE for further action.

·      Carry out the repair of safety equipment such as fire hoses, extinguishers, gas testers, self- contained breathing apparatus and lifesaving equipment.

·      Witness hot and cold work carried out in the field area and provide advice related to SSHE policy, standard, and procedure.

·      Ensure all SSHE policies and procedures and permit-to-work system are strictly adhered to by the crews on the offshore platforms.

·      Provide accurate inspection and report incident and anomalies observed to Supervisor, SHE.

·      Facilitate safety drill and exercise including safety training. Act as muster checker and muster logger in case of incidents.

·      Comply with and promote the Company’s SSHE policy, rules and regulations for all work under responsibility.


Emergency Response Tasks:

·      Carry out the duties as member of intervention team during emergencies which may include, but not limited to aircraft incident, marine incident, hydrocarbon release, loss of well control, fire, man overboard, occupation incident, and missing person incidents, etc.

·      Identify contingencies.

·      Control the effect of stress in self and others.

·      Assimilate        diverse        and       fragmented information.

·      Monitor and response to situation change.

Identify hazard and manage risk.


Safety Technician, SSHE assists in safety equipment auditing. The jobholder tests and checks all fire, safety, spill response and rescue equipment in good operation condition and in very high standard. He also performs various SSHE activities on the platform to promote the safety work practice.

Candidate criteria

Minimum level of experience required

3 years or more

Required authorisations

·    Technical Diploma in occupational health and safety or related field plus 1-
2 years training in SSHE and fire fighting or equivalent.
·    3 years’ experience in SSHE and firefighting operations in oil and gas industry or similar.
·    Good command of both spoken and written English.
·    Advanced Fire Fighting Training.
·    Basic Fire Fighting Training.
·    Basic First Aid Training.
·    Confine  Space Training
·    Basic working at height.
