Laser Scanning Surveyor

Job Purpose:

To optimize production downtime when executing maintenance activities contributing to the development and review of risk assessments.

Your main duties will be to: -

• Carry out Laser Surveys, Dimensional Control surveys, Total station surveys in accordance with Company procedures.
• Setting out of all Survey requirements including benchmarks on site. Carry out pre-operations check on survey and scanning equipment
•  Data processing of all captured data and production into accurate datasets. Generate deliverables including but not limited to point cloud, Bubble views, Drawings,3D models and reports.
• Plan, manage and efficiently manage all 3D laser scanning survey operations in co-ordination with Offshore team and planning team to continuously integrate and keep the Laser scan data UpToDate.
• Yard survey of the items before installation, Dimensional controls surveys, closing spool checks, tiein checks whenever necessary.
• Carry out QC/QA of point cloud data, Bubble views, Drawings,3D models and reports if any of the activities are carried out by external agencies.
• Collect documents/drawings relevant to the scanning for the scanning requirements from EDMS system, 3D model etc.
• Direct the transportation, setup, operation, and the maintenance of Laser scanning equipment, accessories and captured data
• Ensures that all equipment is calibrated and tested, sufficient spares, manuals and consumables held onboard to carry out the survey as per the plans.
•  Updating the AVEVA 3D model, 2D Drawing preparation, mark-ups, Reports for the project

Ideally, you will have graduated with minimum Higher Secondary School Education plus a three-year technical diploma (HNC, HND or equivalent).

• 10-12 years of experience in Laser Scanning.
• Proficient using Total stations for setting out / control points / general dimensional control and Carrying out survey control / cardinal points using a total station. Carrying out or Supervising the subsidence surveys.
• Processing of the Survey Data and integrating with Laser scan data for alignment. Expert knowledge in using Laser scanners for carrying out the Laser scanning survey to capture the necessary point cloud, bubble view data for company requirements.
• Expert knowledge of laser scanning instruments (Z+F /Faro / Leica) operation, calibration and setup
• Competent at processing and registering laser scan data in LFM Server, AVEVA PCM,FARO Scene, Cyclone, Autodesk Recap, or similar point cloud processing software tools
• Extensive knowledge of 3D laser scanning theory and applications.
•  Knowledge of reading and interpreting as-built construction and engineering plans.
•  Updating of the 3D Model and drawing using E3D and 2D Drawings USING AutoCAD, MicroStation
  whenever necessary.
  3D modelling from Laser scan data using LFM Modeller or other similar tools.
  Able to work independently without any supervision and manage his/her own workload with good
  time management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  Enthusiasm to investigate and study, understand the latest developments in Industry, propose
  improvements on the Laser scanning methods.
  Relevant computer proficiency, experience in using Microsoft Office tools.

You are fluent in English with both written and verbal communication.

You will have good interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as a good level of computer literacy and be proficient in Microsoft Office.
